A Nice Hot Bath

Oh, yes. I actually got to take a nice hot bath in my cast iron cutie thanks to Brian spending several hours putting the faucet together. It was not an easy task. There are about a million connections on that thing. It only took us 3 or 4 tries on the supply lines before we had it water tight.

I greatly appreciate all the work, though. It was heaven. I am going to enjoy it for many a year. Now if I can just get my hands on one of those bathtub caddies. With a good book and an ice cold drink, I'll never have to leave it.

Magnito's Fate

We have finally found a way to contain that dastardly villain, Skeeto the Small. We have imprisoned him in this glass cell where he will no longer be able to wreak havoc on society. Pots and pans will be safe in their cupboards. DVDs will be left untouched. Toys will remain saliva free. It is a good day!

Nevermind.

As you can see, we got our glass shower installed today. No, that big hole in the tile is not an optical illusion. We had to change out the shower valve so the faucet I bought will fit. It'll get repaired this week. Something as good as the shower, even, was we were able to put the tub back in the bathroom. After a month of it sitting in the middle of our bedroom, it is now in its propper place. I have to say, I didn't realize how bad it was bugging me until today. Having our bedroom back to normal made me extra happy. I really hope we can finish this room up this weekend.

When In Rome

After spending hours online trying to find the right roman shades, I decided I would try my hand at making them myself. I found a website where you can buy a roman shade kit. It's awesome! You enter the dimensions of your window and the kit they send you comes with all the hardware pre-assembled on a mounting board and step by step instructions on how to sew and assemble your roman shade. I found the perfect fabric on Fabric.com and today, while Nate was taking his nap, I thought I'd just open it up and start it. A few short hours later, I was done! I couldn't believe it!

Izzypop helped by taking some photos of the process. She also helped me do some measuring...Something that I took my time on, but I'm really pleased with the outcome.

Now Brian and I can walk around in our skivies and spare the rest of the world the horrendous sight! LOL!

I gotta say, even though this project was pretty easy compared to what I thought it was going to be, I am pretty proud of myself.

Eat your heart out, Martha!

Plumbing Without The Crack

Last night, Brian and I went to Home Depot and got all the plumbing supplies for the toilet and sinks. A trip to Lowes and two trips to Ace Hardware later we have half a functioning bathroom! Take a look at this beauty. It even has a toilet seat that doesn't slam :). We also swapped out the handle for one that matches the faucets a little better.

We had to install shutoff valves and hook up all the drains and water supply lines. Now we have two matching his and hers sinks. We are totally going to brush our teeth in there tonight!

This is what we will be seeing when we wake up in the morning. Pretty nice, huh? I am loving this! The room I have been planning for two years and it is finally coming together! Not long before the other half will be done.

P.S. I may have fibbed a little when I said "Without the crack." There may have been a little...But not from Brian. :D
