I'm Gonna Miss That Man Hole

Not really.  Today they started breaking up the concrete pad on the north side of the house.  It was one guy and he was doing it with a sledgehammer.  It was loud.  Apparently effective, but loud.  The idea is to repour the roof of this old coal chute and make it water tight.  This will eventually be a sweet storage area.

Also, window wells 2 and 3 were dug out today.  Making progress.

Our Neighbors Probably Hate Us

We have *another* giant eyesore of a dumpster in our driveway again.  Our neighbors are saints for putting up with this for so many years.

James sent out one of his guys today to start digging out the window wells....by hand.  Not a fun job, I can imagine.  But we are grateful he was there.  This was the only thing that got done today, but we will take it!  We are back underway!

Basement Beginnings

We've been prepping for the start of our basement remodel.  We were hoping to have been well on our way by now, but we're waiting on our contractor to finish things up at another job.  I am still hoping for a finished product by the end of summer.  That has not deterred Brian from getting a few things done.  He took down the shed to get ready for the concrete to be cut for the egress windows.

And he's been busily working on the demo in the bathroom.  It is such a shame to see all that blue tile disappear.

He also has been removing the baseboards and found this lovely patch of mold growing in the toy room on the wall behind the shower.  I am hating that bathroom even more.  So happy it will soon be done right.
